Scottish Fisheries Co-ordination Centre (SFCC)

The SFCC is an association of Fisheries Trusts, Scottish Government, SEPA, SNH and others interested in evidence based management of freshwater fish and fisheries in Scotland. 

SFCC Aims:

1.      Develop sampling protocols

2.      Co-ordinate data storage

3.      Facilitate data sharing

4.      Provide training courses

5.      Promote discussion

6.      Facilitate cross-Scotland projects

A seminar on “The Marine life of Atlantic Salmon” by Dr Jens Christian Holst, a former scientist at the Institute of Marine Research in Bergen, Norway. The seminar will be held at the Aberdeen Marine Lab on Wednesday 11 May at 14:00 in the Marine Laboratory Lecture Theatre.

Rivers displayed are streamed from the CEH 1:50K Digital Rivers Network Web Map Service (2015). The barriers to fish migration and Water Framework Directive Classification layers are streamed from the SEWEB (SEPA) Web Map Service.

River Habitat Survey (RHS) locations are provided with thanks to Marc Naura.

Presence/absence data from the European Eel Management Plan is derived from DEFRA (2010), with thanks to Jason Godfrey.

Scottish & Southern Energy (SSE) Fish Counter locations are made available by Alistair Stephen.
